A true vintage release from Yugoslavia in the early sixties, Tito's golden age. The songs are performed in a sophisticated manner, but the idealizing effect of socialism on folk culture, similar to national romanticism, still had a significant influence on this period. The songs lack authenticity, the "primordial power" characteristic of folk music and folk songs. Still, it is a nice compilation from an era characterized by optimism and the will to live.
