Folk Music From Molise, Italy
Molise is the land of bagpipes, which are more than just musical instruments, since they are connected to history and culture. Pipers that walked the streets of Rome in past centuries, in the Christmas seasons, were almost exclusively from Molise.
The traditional music of this part of Italy is shrouded in the mists of time. The hand made instruments were, and are, produced from animal horns, skins, milk churns, wood; basically anything locally available. They certainly make a noise, although like a mature pecorino cheese, perhaps it's too full a taste at first. But it's worth!
