Traditional Macedo-romanian songs

Vocal group Fărşeroţii

The Aromanians (Aromanian: Rrãmãnj, Armãnj)are an ethnic group native to the Balkans, traditionally living in northern and central Greece, central and southern Albania, the Republic of North Macedonia, Kosovo and south-western Bulgaria and Romania. The term Vlachs is used in Greece to refer to Aromanians, but this term is internationally used to encompass all Romance-speaking peoples of the Balkans.
Aromanians speak the Aromanian language, a Latin-derived vernacular similar to Romanian, and has many slightly varying dialects of its own.  It descends from the Vulgar Latin spoken by the Paleo-Balkan peoples subsequent to their Romanization. Aromanian is a mix of domestic and Latin language with additional influences from other surrounding languages of the Balkans, mainly Greek, Albanian, Macedonian and Bulgarian.

A hetényi kertek alatt... Down by the gardens of Hetény...

Folk songs, dances and folklore traditions of Hosszúhetény
with:
School childrens of the Cultural Centre "János Nemes"
The Choir of Hosszúhetény
The Orchestra of the Folk Ensemble of Hosszúhetény

Hosszúhetény (Croatian: Hetinj, Etinj, Hetin, Jetin, German: Hetting, Heting, Langheting) is one of the most populous village in Baranya county, southwest Hungary, a significant centre of village tourism.
It is located 18 kilometres northeast to Pécs, the county capital, in a valley between the feet of Zengő, the highest peak of the Mecsek mountains and the peak called Hármashegy.
It has a population of 3424 (as of Jan 1, 2010) and an area of 45.27 km2 (17 sq mi) the valley has been inhabited since the Stone Age. Two other nearby villages belong to the administration of Hosszúhetény: Püspökszentlászló and Kisújbánya.
Located in an environmentally protected area, a special microclimate producing rare flower species like Paeonia officinalis ssp, among picturesque mountains, the three villages are popular among tourists who arrive from all parts of Hungary and abroad. One of the main sites is the arboretum of the episcopal castle in Püspökszentlászló. Tourism gives an increasing portion of the villagers' revenues after the decline of coal mining which flourished in the region between the 1950s and 1990.

The village of Hosszúhetény has been interested by the Hungarian folk movement "Gyöngyösbokréta" in the 1930's. The village was really a very fine example  of the Hungarian folk costumes, traditional songs and dances of county Baranya in this time. And because of enthografic researcher's work the village has been well known all over the country.

The folk dances, songs and traditions are still living in Hosszúhetény thanks to the help of the movement "Gyöngyösbokréta" and the researcher László Lajtha's and his collector successors work. There are researchers and artist such as János Berze Nagy,  János Nemes, Nándor Dallos, Bertalan Andrásfalvy,  Ferenc Várnai,  János Kaszás and László Felföldi who payed attention to the traditional cultural heritage of this district. Their documents, pictures, movies, musical notes and studies take care to save this heritage from the oblivion. Many thanks and honor to these researchers, collectors who payed attention to these traditions and helped to save the folklore heritage of their weekdays memorable days in the Zengő district.

"Urálás" or "hejgetés"is a New Year habit of the young lads; greeting and abundance wizarding practice in Moldavia, which is now practiced only in a few settlements, but nowadays women, children and men are  involved in this event.
The group's actors in Klézse are:  the "hejgető" (storyteller, who tells the life of wheat from the sowing through the harvest to the bread baking) the goat-figures and  the musicians: kobzos, (lute player) drummer, flute player and other called "noise-makers"
Entering the houses, they say good wishes to the people of the house as the part of the fertility wizarding.
