Draumkvedet
Maybe many of us want to see "Draumkvedet" as a bridge that leads us to an other world. With their beautiful tones and images, it lies there and drags us to riddles and mysteries. Otherwise we say that the old ballad takes us to the future or the distant past. Or maybe Agnes Buen Garnås, Harald Gundhus and the other musicians help us to see that in fact the world of "Draumkvedet" is our own one?
Side A
This side contains the 20 first verses of a total of 43 recorded on this album. The introduction and interlude after verse 5 is based on "Draumeslåtten" by Olav Haugen (Tuddal). After verse 13, "Nordafjøllsen" comes in composed by Knut Buen based on tradition after Hallvard Rysstad / Eivind Mo. A composition by Knut Buen ends the page.
Side B
This side opens with a variation on the Draumkvedet (tone by Knut Buen) After the first 14 verses we hear excerpts from "Nordafjøllsen" in the tradition of Knut Jonson Heddi. This part is taken up as an interlude after the next two verses. The last part is built on "Draumeslåtten".
